How to Check Punjab Ration Card Status Online?
The Government of Punjab provides an open ePoS (Electronic Point of Sale) citizen lookup system where details can be checked in four easy steps:
Enter Your RC Number
Enter your 12-digit Ration Card Number in the input box above and click Check Ration Card Details. Your number will be copied automatically.
Open Official ePoS Portal
The official page (epos.punjab.gov.in/SRC_Trans_Int.jsp) will open in a new tab. Notably, no captcha code is required on this government portal.
Select Month & Year
Select the active distribution month (e.g. July, August, October) and year from the dropdown menus, paste your copied number into the 'RC No' box, and click Submit.
View Family & Quota Records
Your district, block/taluk, Fair Price Shop dealer (FPS ID), card category (PHH or AAY), member Aadhaar seeding status, and exact wheat quotas will be displayed.
What Information is Displayed on Punjab ePoS Portal?
As shown in the verified screenshot below, when you submit your ration card number on the Punjab ePoS portal, three primary data tables appear:

Figure 1.1: Official Punjab ePoS interface displaying Member Details, Entitlement for RC, and Biometric Authentication Logs.
1. Member Details Table
Displays your administrative district (e.g. Amritsar), Taluk (e.g. Kathu Nangal), Fair Price Shop ID (FPS Id: 104901000xxx), and Scheme (PHH/AAY). The table lists each registered family member, gender, age, active status (Active), Aadhaar seeding status (Seeded), and masked Aadhaar numbers (XXXX-XXXX-7044).
2. Entitlement for RC (Wheat & Foodgrain Kits)
Shows the official monthly and bi-monthly grain quotas. As illustrated in the screenshot, monthly wheat allocations (e.g. 10.000 Kgs for July, August, September, October) and Foodgrain Kit packets (PKTS) are clearly recorded. Dealers are legally obligated to disburse this exact quota.
3. Authentications for RC (Biometric Logs & Error Codes)
Every fingerprint transaction recorded at the dealer's machine is logged in real time. Error Code 100 represents a successful biometric transaction (Success), while Error Code 300 indicates a biometric mismatch (Biometric data did not match). This ensures zero fraudulent diversions.

If you do not have your 12-digit ration card number handy, you can retrieve it using your 12-digit Aadhaar number through three official channels:

Punjab Smart Ration Card Schemes & Free Wheat Distribution
The Government of Punjab implements the National Food Security Act (NFSA) along with state welfare initiatives under two primary card types:
Priority Household Card (PHH)
Held by the vast majority of eligible families across Punjab. Every registered family member is entitled to 5 kg of wheat per month completely free of charge. In Punjab, distribution is frequently organized in quarterly blocks (15 to 20 kg per person).
Antyodaya Anna Yojana Card (AAY)
Issued to the poorest and most vulnerable households. Each family receives 35 kg of wheat per month free of charge regardless of the number of family members, along with government-subsidized foodgrain packets.
Who Should Use This Online Verification Tool?
Ration Cardholder Families
Verify your family's exact monthly wheat quota and Aadhaar link status from home before visiting the Fair Price Shop dealer.
Sewa Kendras & Cyber Cafes
Quickly lookup citizen records, verify FPS dealer assignments, and provide printed verification slips within seconds.
Fair Price Shop Dealers (FPS)
Diagnose ePoS transaction authentication error codes (Code 100 vs. Code 300) and verify member active status on the go.
What Are the Different Types of UIDAI and ePoS Error Codes?
When authenticating at Fair Price Shops (FPS) in Punjab or checking online transaction records on epos.punjab.gov.in, ePoS biometric machines return standardized UIDAI response codes. Below is the complete diagnostic chart of official error codes, their causes, and how to resolve them:
| Error Code | UIDAI - Description | Reason / Diagnosis | How to Resolve (Action) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | Authentication Success | Biometric data matched successfully in UIDAI CIDR. | Authentication completed; collect authorized monthly wheat quota. |
| 300 | Biometric data did not match | Fingerprint or iris scan failed matching threshold due to worn ridges, dry skin, or scanner dust. | Clean fingers/scanner and retry alternate fingers; authenticate via another adult family member, or update biometrics at Aadhaar Seva Kendra. |
| 510 | Invalid Auth XML format, because of UID is less than 12 digits | Aadhaar number entered has fewer than 12 digits or contains spaces/symbols. | Re-enter the full 12-digit Aadhaar number carefully on the ePoS machine keypad without spaces. |
| 811 | Missing biometric data in CIDR for the given Aadhaar number | Child Aadhaar created under age 5 (without biometrics) or mandatory biometric update (MBU at age 5 or 15) pending. | Visit nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center with child to perform Mandatory Biometric Update (fingerprints, iris & photo). |
| 996 | Aadhaar Cancelled | Aadhaar number deactivated by UIDAI due to duplication or invalid demographic documents. | Visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra with original ID proof (POI) and address proof (POA) for document re-verification and reactivation. |
| 997 | Aadhaar Suspended | Biometric lock enabled in mAadhaar app, non-compliance with UIDAI notice, or temporary security hold. | Unlock biometrics via mAadhaar App or myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. If suspended by UIDAI, visit an enrollment center. |
| 998 | Invalid Aadhaar Number 0r Non Availability of Aadhaar data | Incorrect Aadhaar digits entered or central UIDAI database connection temporarily down. | Verify the 12-digit number against physical Aadhaar card; verify active status online on UIDAI portal. |
| 999 | Unknown error | Network timeout, gateway handshake failure, or server disruption between ePoS machine and central server. | Restart the ePoS machine, check SIM/Wi-Fi connection, and retry after 5 to 10 minutes. |
Code 300: Biometric Mismatch
If fingerprint matching repeatedly fails, any other adult family member listed on the card can authenticate. Elderly beneficiaries can also authorize a proxy nominee through the Block Supply Officer.
Code 811: Missing Biometrics
Occurs when children turn 5 or 15 without mandatory biometric update. Take the child to an Aadhaar enrollment center for free biometric capture to reactivate ration eligibility.
Code 997: Biometrics Locked
Often caused when biometric locking is enabled in the mAadhaar app. Open the mAadhaar app or myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and click 'Unlock Biometrics' before visiting the ration shop.
